Meet the women behind mom and mom!

Hi! I’m Paula Larson. I started this company out of a hobby. I have MS, and I needed something to do to keep myself and my mind stimulated. Doing diamond art and putting together jewelry and keychains really helped me accomplish that. And what’s more? I really love doing it!

The fun part, though, is working with someone else. Sandra Strange, my friend and stepmother to one of my children, came on board and also found joy in my hobby. She also has a disability and found diamond art and making jewelry and keychains is something she can truly enjoy. Together, we found a way to make life fun for ourselves. Creating diamond art, keychains, and jewelry is both stimulating and enjoyable for us. It gets hard, but we still do it because we love it. It gives us a reason to get up in the morning, even if getting out of bed is difficult.

We started getting lots of compliments and a stockpile, so I decided to start a business with all of the stuff I’d done. Sandra asked if she could help, as she was also getting a stockpile of things, so I brought her on board so she could both help and continue to feel that joy we both get when we complete a project.

When I was trying to think of a name for the company, my son came up with mom and mom. It was a joke, but as soon as he said it, the decision to keep it was made. mom and mom, not capitalized because he calls me “little mom.” Sandra and I both love the name. It’s perfect. My son is embarrassed every time we say it, haha!

mom and mom is a company built on family and our deep love for our home, Hayward, Wisconsin. Our work is heavily rooted in local nature, family, our Native American heritage, and our strong love of the military. We’re honored you’ve chosen to take a look around our website.
